| | | Welcome to the web-pages of the Politics of South Asia Specialist Group. We are a multidisciplinary network of academics with an interest in the politics of South Asia. The members of the Group are principally based in the United Kingdom, but we have an international membership profile.
The Group was established under the auspices of the Political Studies Association of the United Kingdom. The primary function of the Politics of South Asia Specialist Group is to organise South Asia-related panels and roundtable discussions at the annual meeting of the Political Studies Association. We are a very active group within this academic organisation. Moreover, we have sponsored a number of South Asia-related events, largely conferences and workshops. Some of these functions have resulted in a number of publications, including Katharine Adeney and Lawrence S? (eds.), Coalition Politics and Hindu Nationalism (London: Routledge 2005).
The Politics of South Asia Specialist Group is presently convened by Dr Lawrence S?, of the Asia Research Centre, at the London School of Economics. Please feel free to contact him if you have any questions or comments about the activities of the Group. He is also keen to hear from you if you have an interesting proposal for organising a panel at the annual meeting of the PSA or if you are interested in getting the Group involved in a politics of South Asia-related event in the United Kingdom. | | | | Committee | | Group Convenor
